Grace Danladi

I am an orphan. My father died in 2003. I was 2 years old when he died. I grew up with a single mother, my mother. She has trained me from primary school to JSS3 but things were not working well and how to pay my school fees was a challenge. She is a petty trader, who sales kunu. It was the little income she generates from the selling of kunu that she provides food, clothes, and my education.

My sister and I are the only surviving children of our parents. Two of my siblings a male and female died before now.

My desire has always been to study and acquire education and my mother had really worked hard towards it but, as things started falling apart there was no means I can go to school. Then my mum heard about the Luka Agbu Memorial Foundation. She made inquiry about the procedures we need to follow and we were told to come to the office. My mother and I went to the office and we presented our challenges. The foundation accepted me and offered me scholarship.

The foundation took me to SS1 to further my secondary education. I am currently in SS2. I was revived and feel greatly loved when the foundation offered me scholarship.

My ambition is to become a nurse. And with the support from the foundation I can see my dream becoming achievable.
